As a gas practitioner, am I responsible for the safety of the equipment and fittings I install, and how can I be sure about the safety of these fittings and appliances?

You must comply with all applicable requirements of the OHS Act and PER including required health and safety standards

Gas appliances and pressure equipment need to have SGES or SAS verification permits. As a gas practitioner you are obliged to ensure that a valid permit is in one’s possesion before you install the appliance/equipment.
