Do I need a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) for a gas installation and why?

It is a legal requirement as to all gas installations must have a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) according to the Pressure Equipment Regulations for gas work done. If your home or business is damaged or destroyed, because of a defective gas system – and you do not have a valid CoC issued by a gas practitioner – the insurance implications could be significant. An insurance company would be well within their rights to repudiate a claim, which could have severe financial repercussions.

The CoC also confirms to the user that the gas installation is compliant, fit for purpose and safe.
